Simphiwe Sesane is a speaker, host, medical educator, and an experienced contraception and sexual health nurse consultant, a Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH) Trainer. She is also the Founder and CEO of Black Nurses & Midwives UK.
Simphiwe has a special interest in contraception, menopause, Black maternal health and improving sexual and reproductive healthcare access for marginalised and vulnerable groups.
She has had her expertise published in various articles including The Guardian and The Telegraph. Sim-p-hiwe is also very active on social media (@blacknurses_midwives_uk). Other features include podcasts, radio, Parliamentary Groups and the Davina McCall’s Pill Revolution documentary. Simphiwe was an award nominee finalist for the Caribbean & African Network Black Healthcare Awards 2024, and and award for The Motherhood Group Black Maternal Health Awards 2025
Through Black Nurses & Midwives UK, Simphiwe delivers impactful events supporting Black students, nurses and midwives to thrive in their careers. Simphiwe has become a speaker of choice at events. She passionately shares on women’s health, with emphasis on equitable healthcare.
