About
On this episode of Mastering Menopause, I’m joined by William Grazione, also known as the Educated Dieter. We discuss the specific challenges women face during menopause and the importance of educating women on what happens to their bodies during this transition. We also address adipose weight gain and offer advice on how to address it.
William emphasizes the need for women to prepare themselves in their early forties for the menopause transition. He advises against dramatic underfeeding and chronically exercising, which can negatively affect hormones in the long term. Instead, he suggests focusing on building muscle and optimizing hormones and the metabolism.
William stresses the importance of lifting weights and getting as strong as possible, as it becomes harder to build muscle as women age due to anabolic resistance. This episode highlights the adverse effects of chronic dieting, such as down regulatory side effects of the thyroid and loss of muscle mass, which can slow down metabolism. Listen for more valuable insights and practical tips for women going through menopause to improve their health and well-being.
